How our virtual try-on feature works
Our Virtual Try-On feature lets you try on your favorite Door2USA Prescription Glasses frames in 2 ways:
- Use your webcam to 'wear' them in real time.
- Upload an image of your face.
Just follow the instructions below.
Option 1: Using your webcam
1. First, find a Door2USA Prescription Glasses frame you'd like to try on
Start off by browsing our wide collection of Door2USA Prescription Glasses eyewear until you find one that catches your eye.
2. Activate virtual try-on
First, make sure your webcam is connected. Click the button that says 'Try now'.
3. Allow camera access
You may be asked to enable camera access on your browser to allow the virtual try on to start. Click 'Allow'.
Once you've enabled access – ta-dah! You should now be able to see yourself wearing your selected Door2USA Prescription Glasses frames in real-time!
This is the most fun way to try on our glasses, and it's super easy to try on different colors and frame variations.
- To try on different color variations of the same glassesIf you're using a laptop or desktop, you can keep the Virtual Try-On window open and simply click on the different color variations of your glasses. These can be found in an image carousel under the main image.
- To try on different Door2USA Prescription Glasses frames just keep the Virtual Try-On window open and keep browsing the Door2USA Prescription Glasses site as normal. Whenever you find a pair of glasses you want to try, just click the 'Try Me!' button again!
4. Customize your perfect fit
Our real-time Virtual Try-On is fun to play around with, but the most accurate way to see how our glasses will fit on your face is to capture a still image. You'll then be able to customize your glasses to your measurements.
Studies have proven that measurements like pupillary distance (PD) can vary considerably according to gender, age, and ethnicity. We wanted to make sure our Virtual Try-On considered this.
Here's how to capture a still image with your webcam:
- Make sure your entire head is in the frame and centered in the middle. Look straight forward at the camera.
- Click the 'CAPTURE' camera icon at the top left of the Virtual Try-On Screen.
- Click 'CONTINUE' to launch facial recognition technology. If it's unable to detect your face, it will ask you to click and drag the green dots so that they are at the center top, bottom, left, and right of your face.
Then, it's time to adjust it to your face.
Open up settings by clicking on the slider icon at the bottom of the Virtual Try-On window.
Then follow the instructions below to fit your glasses to your face:
- Change your pupillary distance click on the drop-down menu next to the words 'Pupillary distance' and select your PD. If you don't know your PD, check our article on how to measure your PD.
- Adjust your iris position click on each of the blue dots and center them on your iris in the image.
- Change your iris size look for the words 'ADJUST IRIS SIZE' at the top of the Virtual Try-On Screen. Click on the plus and minus to increase or decrease the size of the iris, until it perfectly fits your irises in the photograph.
- Adjust your eye shapeClick 'Back' twice and check that the highlighted area matches your eye shape in the image. You can click and drag the green dots to adjust it.
When you're done, click the 'CONTINUE' button until you arrive back at your still image (you may need to click a few times, depending on what screen you were last on).
You should now be able to see how your frames look on your face! Like them?
- Click 'LIVE' to toggle back to live webcam mode.
- Click the button underneath to add or remove your Door2USA Prescription Glasses glasses.
Option 2: Uploading an image
If you don't have access to a camera, or if you're purchasing for someone else, you can easily upload a photo and let the Virtual Try-on tool work its magic. Here's how.
1. First, find a Door2USA Prescription Glasses frame you'd like to try on
Start by browsing our collection of Door2USA Prescription Glasses eyewear until you find one that catches your eye.
2. Activate virtual try-on
Click the button that says 'Try now'.
3. Upload a photo from your device
Click the camera icon at the bottom left of the Virtual Try-On window (it will say 'My Photo' if you hover your mouse over it).
Then, click 'PHOTO' and select the photo from the device that you wish to use. It's best to use well-lit images and feature the person's front profile, with a straight head.
Once uploaded, the photo should appear on the screen wearing the glasses (if you don't see it, click the red 'STOP' button at the top right of the Virtual Try-On window).
4. Adjust the fit
You can also adjust the sizing of your glasses to give you the most realistic idea of how they'll look on your face.
First, open up settings by clicking on the slider icon at the bottom of the Virtual Try-On window.
Then follow the instructions below to fit your glasses to your face:
