The Most Iconic Versace Glasses of All Time: a Comprehensive Guide

Versace — a name that's synonymous with luxury and high fashion. Aside from its clothing line, Versace is also well known for its distinctively flamboyant glasses.

In this deep dive, we'll look at Versace eyewear, its history, and its most iconic styles. Stick around until the end, and you might even find out how to get the Versace look on a budget.

A journey through time with Versace eyewear

In 1978, the world was introduced to Versace, the brainchild of Italian designer Gianni Versace. By having control over every step of the process — from conceptualizing to selling — Versace stood out as a unique independent label in a world of big brand conglomerates.

By the early '80s, the brand had expanded its offerings to include jewelry and accessories, like eyeglasses and sunnies.

From its earliest designs, which were characterized by bold geometric shapes and vibrant colors, to the sleek, chic styles we see today, Versace has continuously pushed the boundaries of fashion and eyewear.

Over the years, the brand has experimented with various materials, from traditional acetate frames to more modern metals and plastics, and incorporated unique embellishments such as Swarovski crystals and Medusa logos.

As a result of its strong identity and innovation, Versace's glasses have made a huge impact on both fashion and culture. The brand's eyewear collection has become one of the world's most popular and recognizable, with everyone from A-list celebrities to everyday fashionistas sporting their designs.

The most iconic Versace glasses of all time & who wore them

Versace eyewear has been at the center of numerous iconic style moments over the decades. Here are some of the most memorable.

The Notorious B.I.G.'s standout Versace 424

If you ask any hip-hop aficionado what the most recognizable sunglasses to ever grace a music video are, they'll probably say the Versace 424 frames that Biggie wore in the One More Chance music video.

What makes them memorable are their temples formed by inverted pyramids that provide the link to the iconic Medusa. With its black and gold color palette, it's a pair made for (hip-hop) royalty.

Prince's versatile Versace sunglasses

Prince made plenty of fashion statements in his lifetime, many of which included glasses. For his Versace moment, he took a leaf out of Notorious B.I.G.'s book by wearing the same pair of Versace 424.

In his case, the musician wore the frames at numerous outings, from onstage during his Jam of the Year tour (1997-1998) to the New York Knicks-Chicago Bulls game in 1996. He also rocked them during an interview with Chris Rock in 1997.

Madonna's oversized Versace Palazzo VE4298

Moving on to another legend, Madonna became the face of Versace eyewear for its Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

In a black and white shot reminiscent of old Hollywood stars, the ‘Vogue' singer wears three pairs of the oversized, round-framed Versace Palazzo VE4298 in black and white.

The design featured thick, round frames inspired by the ‘60s and the ever-recognizable Medusa logo on the temples.

Lady Gaga's #StudsLadies Versace sunnies

In 2014, Versace went with Lady Gaga as the face of their #StudsLadies eyewear collection. The designs were described as loud, bold, and full of eccentric style — not unlike a certain Italian-American pop diva. In one of the campaign images, she wears a fierce pair with cat-eye frames embellished with gold studs in various shapes.

JLo's shield Versace sunnies

Jenny from the Block is a paparazzi darling and for good reason. While she has many showstopper red carpet looks, her street style doesn't far fall behind with its effortlessly chic, casual cool vibe.

While out and about in Los Angeles, J.Lo was seen wearing a pair of shield sunglasses from Versace in orange tinted lenses. Paired with a cropped turtleneck and a Hermès Birkin bag, the ensemble personified sleek luxury.

How to choose and style your Versace alternatives

Face shape and glasses style

From square to round to oval to heart-shaped, each face shape has unique features that can be enhanced or balanced by the right pair of specs. For example, if you have a square face with defined angles, round frames can soften your features and create a more balanced look.

On the other hand, if you have an oval face shape, rectangular frames can add structure and balance out your symmetrical features. So before you start your search for the perfect pair, take some time to determine your face shape to narrow down the shapes that will flatter you best.

Matching glasses to outfit styles

Choosing the right pair of glasses can make or break an outfit. A well-chosen pair can even elevate your outfit from basic to chic.

For example, if you're wearing a dress with a vintage flair, you might want to opt for round frames with lightly tinted lenses. Alternatively, if you're wearing a sporty outfit, you might choose a pair of rectangular frames with a bright pop of color.

Ultimately, your glasses should complement your outfit, not overshadow it.

UV protection

When picking out a fresh pair of shades, style, and comfort are typically at the top of our minds. One factor that is often overlooked is UV protection, but it should also be prioritized if you want to keep your eyes healthy.

Overexposure to UV rays can cause your vision to deteriorate and even lead to macular degeneration. Therefore, it'd be prudent to opt for lenses that block out 100% of UV rays. On top of that, they'll add an extra layer of defense against premature aging.

Incorporating Versace-like glasses into your style

If you're ready to shake up your eyewear game and try something bold, Versace-like glasses will be right up your alley. These frames are all about making a statement and adding some edge to your look.

Once you've picked the right shape and color for you, it's all about wearing them with confidence. Once you're more comfortable, you can even experiment with outfits or makeup that play up your glasses, like a statement blazer or bold lipstick.

Versace eyewear: a game-changer

Versace eyewear has undoubtedly made its mark on fashion and pop culture. From its iconic Medusa logo to its bold shapes, Versace has consistently pushed the boundaries of what eyewear can look like. And thanks to the endorsement of numerous stars, their iconic status has been elevated to dizzying heights.

If this leaves you inspired to try out a new style, go for it! Don't be afraid to embrace your uniqueness and stand out from the crowd. Who knows, you might just start a trend of your own.

Some may wonder whether the Loki star needs glasses, and he most likely does.

He has been seen wearing them during casual days off, indicating that they're either prescription glasses or reading glasses.

When it comes to his preferred style, Hiddleston typically opts for square frames in dark neutral tones similar to his outfits.

One of his most recognizable pairs features a classic black rectangle frame with clear lenses, which he has been spotted wearing at public appearances.

The success of Loki in the Thor franchise led to a TV spinoff featuring the lovable villain.

In one scene, it's revealed that he is, in fact, D.B. Cooper — the mysterious figure who hijacked a plane in 1971 and left with $200,000 after parachuting from the aircraft.

To portray the dashing thief, Hiddleston wore a sleek pair of black Wayfarers.

To emulate Hiddleston/Loki's style, give these black oval Mascot frames a go.

They come with a magnetic clip that makes it effortless to switch between sunnies and prescription glasses.

So you can easily add a touch of dashing elegance to your look that would make Loki proud.

In the TV adaptation of John le Carre's novel of the same name, Hiddleston plays the main character Jonathan Pine.

In one scene, he wears Wayfarers with a twist.

Instead of the traditional design, this pair has blue rims and thin temples.

Our Eon frames capture the essence of the Wayfarers with rectangle blue frames and are made with acetate to provide durability and flexibility.

Round metal-rimmed sunglasses in Crimson Peak

In the 2015 gothic romance film, Hiddleston portrays Sir Thomas Sharpe — a refined gentleman with plenty of skeletons in his closet.

He falls in love with an American woman named Edith Cushing (played by Mia Wasikowska).

To bring out his character's mysterious aura, Hiddleston donned a pair of Pince-nez with metal rims, which were typical of the early 1900s during which the movie is set.

The Occasion glasses are the perfect accessory to channel early 1900s fashion with, thanks to their strikingly similar round frames and narrow nose bridge.

The contrast between the metal nose bridge and temples and black frames also gives them a sophisticated appearance that is bound to make any wearer stand out in a crowd.

Hiddleston's photoshoot for 1883 Magazine marked a departure from his usual preppy chic style and showcased a less buttoned-up, carefree side of the actor.

For one of the shots, he was photographed splashing around in a bathtub in round clear acetate sunglasses.

You can find an equally fun pair in our Willie frames, which come in an oval shape and are made out of clear brown acetate.

Oval metal glasses for Ivanov

Hiddleston wears small oval wire spectacles in the play, Ivanov. Source: Pinterest

Anton Chekhov's play Ivanov follows the story of the titular character, a man struggling with his life's purpose and existential issues.

Hiddleston played the role of Lvov, a wealthy landowner who is one of Ivanov's acquaintances.

Lviv is portrayed as a depressed and disillusioned character going through financial difficulties.

As such, his oval wire spectacles were likely chosen to enhance the character's image as a serious and intellectual figure.

While you certainly don't have to inhabit Lviv's existential crises, you can still get the look with our ODD Dione frames.

The sleek, minimalist frames strike the right balance between vintage and modern thanks to the round lenses and industrial design.

Tom Hiddleston: the epitome of classic British style

While Hiddleston has worn a wide variety of glasses to portray different characters, he sticks to a few firm favorites offscreen.

Typically, he likes classic rectangle glasses in dark neutrals, and we can see why as they complement and enhance his classic, preppy aesthetic.

Tony Stark’s Glasses through the MCU

Hate him or love him, Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man is one of the most beloved superheroes in the world. Thanks to the unbelievable success of Marvel's Cinematic Universe (MCU), he's a household name.

Robert Downey Jr took up the mantle back in 2008. Since then, the metallic maverick has saved the world, fought bad guys, and dazzled in some amazing eyewear looks on screen.

It's no wonder this genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist is renowned for his wit, wealth, and way with the ladies (though it's Pepper Potts who has his heart).

With him being the one who started the Avengers, took Spiderman under his wing, and gave his life in Avenger's End Game, it's easy to see why this comic book hero is beloved by kids and adults alike.

But today, we're not going to focus on Tony Starks' abilities or feats. No, what we're going to be looking at is his eyewear, specifically some of the great glasses that he has worn throughout his time in the MCU.

Tony Stark's glasses are nearly as legendary as the character.

Tony Stark's Glasses – a look across films

Whether he's out at a party, meeting his superpowered teammates, giving a speech at the UN, or just chilling, you can bet that Tony Stark will be wearing a cool pair of glasses. Here's a look at some of our favorites in his movies over the years.

1. Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Spiderman: Far From Home (2019)

Tony Stark & Peter Parker wearing the Dita Flight.

As a man known for his swagger and style, Tony often donned a great pair of specs that also doubled as an interface for his various artificial intelligence (A.I.), E.D.I.T.H. Which of course, stands for 'Even Dead, I'm The Hero'.

These were the glasses that Tony passed on to Peter Parker in Spiderman: Far From Home.

It's an A.I. that Tony created with defense, intelligence, security, and tactical properties. E.D.I.T.H. can also be used to access Stark Industries' global satellite network and hack almost any computerized device on the planet. No wonder Mysterio wanted it so badly.

The glasses used to interface with E.D.I.T.H. are the Dita Flight.006. They're a gorgeous pair of aviator glasses. They feature the classic frame with modern touches that include a titanium front frame, bridge piece, and brow bar. Titanium was also used for the temples and the tips were made using a beta-titanium material to give the right fit.

Aviators were inspired by pilots and as you've probably seen throughout the MCU and you'll see throughout this post, Tony Stark loves a pair of aviators.

These glasses match Tony's style as you can see he wears a lot of tinted aviator-style shades throughout the MCU films.

2. Spiderman: Homecoming (2017)

Tony Stark in Silhouette The Next Generation (TNG) in Spiderman: Homecoming.

Spiderman: Homecoming was a reboot of the Spiderman cast with newcomer, Tom Holland. It was a smash, with Holland who was born for the role. But what helped to make the film shine was RDJ's cameo as Iron Man.

He served as Peter's mentor and helped him to become the Spiderman we know today. In this scene, we see Tony wearing a pair of rimless blue shades that are actually from Silhouette's The Next Generation line.

Silhouette stated that the blue was chosen for a calming effect and the eyewear showcases intelligence and confidence. Those are two qualities synonymous with Howard Stark's son so we agree in saying these shades suit him very well.

3. Captain America Civil War (2016)

Tony Stark wearing the Initium Police in Captain America Civil War.

This pair of glasses was a collaboration between Marvel and Initium for Captain America: Civil War. It's known as the Initium Police and it is a standout pair of shades.

It features red-tinted lenses which paired nicely with Tony's gray suit and red tie from this part of the movie. The frame was a two-toned aviator-square style frame. It was black and clear which set this pair of glasses apart from a lot of the other ones that Tony wore throughout his MCU run.

These glasses suited his style perfectly. The splash of color complimented his designer suits and ties and added the right amount of playfulness to his attire.

4. Avengers Age of Ultron (2015)

Tony Stark wearing the Initium All-In in Avengers Age of Ultron.

Even when humanity is at threat of total extinction due to one of his creations, Tony Stark still manages to look stylish through it all. And his time in Avengers Age of Ultron is no different.

One of his shades in this movie is the Initium All-In (Black). It's a gorgeous pair of aviator square shades with black lenses and a black frame. The tips are red but Tony donned the black-tipped version in Iron Man 2.

These shades line up perfectly with Stark's style, as you notice he often wears large aviator square glasses throughout the MCU movies.

5. Iron Man 3 (2013)

Tony Stark in The Matsuda MS3023 in Iron Man 3.

Iron Man 3 was the last solo Iron Man movie and the highest-rated movie out of the Iron Man trilogy. It followed the first Avengers and kicked off Phase 2 of the MCU. It's no doubt that the MCU's metal knight would stay stylish in his final solo movie and that he does.

However, one moment stuck with us and it was when he was rocking the Matsuda MS3023. Another aviator square style glasses, the ones featured in the movie had red-tinted lenses with a matte black and gold plated frame.

It features a double bridge design that's similar to the Dita Flight.006, Initium All-In, and the Initium Police. It's clear that Stark loved his aviator-inspired glasses and we loved them on him.

If you want to see more of Tony Stark's eyewear, we recommend checking @tonyseyewear on Instagram.

There's also a great supercut of all of Tony Stark's eyewear throughout the MCU, check it out below:

Beyond Tony Stark: Robert Downey Jr's glasses style

Robert Downey Jr's stylish eyewear.

Robert Downey Jr was made to play Tony Stark.

The casting choice was as perfect as Chris Evans was for Captain America. RDJ brought Tony Stark to life on the big screen. He made Tony Stark what he is to many fans of both movies and comic books alike. So much so that MCU Tony Stark has influenced the comic book version going forward.

So it's no surprise that RDJ's style is influenced by Tony Stark and vice versa. He's a man that goes for a sophisticated look with his eyewear, something that makes a statement yet enhances his overall look.

You can always be sure that RDJ will be in a fashionable pair of shades on the red carpet, in an interview, or at an event.

One quick Google search will show the actor in a variety of glasses, each unique and quite fashionable. One thing that both Tony Stark and RDJ have in common is that they both love tinted glasses. While the character, Tony Stark, seems to love Aviator-styled glasses, RDJ seems to prefer a bit more variety.

He's been seen wearing sunglasses in a variety of different styles but seems to like rectangular glasses, retro square glasses, and wayfarer glasses. He's also not afraid to mix it up and try rocking a pair of unique glasses.

The importance of UV protection – why tinted glasses are the best

You'll notice that a lot of Tony Stark's glasses are tinted, this is great for style but also even better for eye protection. Many tinted glasses offer protection against UV-A and UV-B light. These UV rays are the same ultraviolet rays that can damage your skin. Turns out, they can damage your eyes too.

To protect your eyes, you need sunglasses that block 99-100% of UV-A and UV-B as well as screen out 75-90% of visible light. This protects your eyes from harmful UV rays and reduces ocular diseases such as cataracts, photokeratitis, and pterygium. We've written plenty more on the importance of UV protection!

Many experts recommend gray, green, or brown sunglasses. However, other colors work fine too as long as they have sufficient UV protection.

Tony Stark's glasses – a wrap-up

Tony Stark is a man like no other. While many other superheroes have secret identities, he lives his life on the world stage. A businessman, and a hero in one, he knows how to work, party, and save the world all while wearing some of the most stylish glasses available.

If a man is as good as his shades, then it's no wonder Tony Stark is so great.

What Does It Mean to Dream of Glasses Breaking?

Had a dream of your eyeglasses breaking? While it might seem trivial to dream up, that confusing and often shocking imagery can have an unexpected meaning.

Many people automatically associate a dream of glasses breaking with something negative. However, that's not all it's cracked up to be. Let's find out what it can symbolize as you scroll down below.

Interpreting your dream of glasses breaking

Broken glass can be interpreted as good or bad.

Glass has a complex meaning in dreams. It can symbolize many things, from clarity and good to vision and intuition. However, glass is also fragile. It's easily breakable in certain circumstances. Thus, glass in dreams can be associated with conflict and transformation in your life.

So, what does it mean if you dream of glasses breaking?

A dream of glass breaking can be a good or bad omen, depending on the context. It might refer to a point, a relationship, or a perception in your life that's waiting to be destroyed and reformed.

When you see broken glass in your dreams, you might also notice how sharp and dangerous the shards can be. This vision can come off as a subtle warning, telling you to be careful and not get cut, emotionally and physically.

Broken glasses can point to a new era. You might be reinventing yourself, and it's about time to shatter self-imposed limits or rules to your personality. It can also signify broken expectations.

You'll probably feel a myriad of emotions with this type of dream. There can be a sense of loss, a broken heart, or disappointment that something in your life isn't everything you thought it would be.

On the flip side, breaking glass can also have a hopeful meaning. In Jewish weddings, grooms break glass to celebrate a new beginning for the newlyweds.

Remember, dream interpretations can vary from one person to another. If you feel something doesn't align, your dream of glasses breaking might signify something else in real life.

Oops, I fell asleep with my glasses on

Sleeping with your glasses on can have costly consequences.

Sometimes, dreaming up broken glasses doesn't need any symbolic meaning behind it. Maybe, it's because your actual spectacles broke in real time!

We all know how that feels. I, myself, had slept on my side too many times before. Little did I know, my frames had stayed on for the entire night and became badly dented come morning.

Having a sturdy pair of eyeglasses is vital in our daily lives. You might find it challenging to do the simplest of tasks without them.

To make it worse, getting them fixed or replaced is such a hassle. If only one lens got damaged, you'll probably pay around $50 for a replacement. Double that, and the cost can easily hike up to a hundred dollars.

That estimated cost doesn't even cover anything else. If you have a particular prescription or need various coatings for your lenses, that's another added fee.

The cost and hassle of having broken glasses can be so frustrating. So, let's avoid that immediately by selecting the most durable eyeglasses you can get.

Getting durable eyeglasses that can better survive unintended naps

You need to invest in durable eyeglasses.

It's not an exaggeration to say you must invest in durable eyeglasses. Especially those that can withstand harsh elements and long, unintended naps.

Another popular choice among eyeglass shoppers is acetate frames. They're made of cellulose, which makes them a more robust, eco-friendly alternative to plastic frames.

Acetate frames are super lightweight, sturdy, and skin-safe. They also come in thousands of vibrant colors and patterns that won't fade out over time.

For first-timers, try out ourAcetate frames. These spectacles feature a pretty tortoiseshell design, making them perfect for any day or occasion.

If you're looking for multipurpose frames, look no further than our Acetate glasses. Not only are these frames durable, but they also come with clip-on sunglasses for that sunny day switch-up. It's fashionable and practical!

Aside from timeless frames, don't forget to look into durable lens materials. This factor matters, too, since the material of your lens dictates how easily breakable they are. For starters, you can select the following.

Polycarbonate lenses

If you need an everyday prescription lens that won't crack at any point, go for polycarbonate lenses. They're solid yet super lightweight. Compared to plastic lenses, these better resist impact and corrosion.

Trivex lenses

For those who run or play sports all the time, check out Trivex lenses. Once used for military purposes, this lens is robust, lightweight, and offers high optical clarity.

Trivex lenses are often used for sports glasses, children's eyewear, and safety glasses for work.

A dream of glasses breaking isn't all that bad

Broken glasses in a dream might seem like a bad omen, but it's not the end-of-the-world type of bad. For many people, it's a vision of transformation.

Whether you need a fresh perspective or a new pair of glasses, don't hesitate to welcome that change in your life. And if you want more info on durable frames and impact-resistant glasses, check out Door2USA Prescription Glasses' blog.

What on Earth are Doggles?

If you have an adventurous dog in your family, they might need a pair of 'Doggles'.

Yes, you read that right.

The term 'Doggles' might sound like something straight out of a Dr. Seuss book, but rest assured, it's a real thing.

And, your furry friend might just love it.

So, let's explore how you and your pup can use a pair of these in real life.

Doggles? Are we barking mad?

A good boy needs protective eyewear, just like humans do.

Okay, first things first, what exactly are Doggles?

Well, just by the name alone, you may have guessed they're a pair of goggles for your dog!

Just like us, dogs do need their protective eyewear at times.

Doggles usually have UV-protected, shatterproof, and anti-fog lenses to help your dog see clearly wherever it goes.

They're also designed with soft foam padding to ensure they always feel comfortable on your dog's head.

And if you're wondering who's the genius behind this, you can thank Roni Di Lullo.

She came up with the idea for Doggles one day when she noticed how her border collie squinted under the sun and missed catching a frisbee.

But why would a dog need Doggles?

Energetic dogs tend to get dirt and debris in their eyes, which could irritate.

1. Physical eye protection

While out and about, your dog can get dirt and dust stuck in its eyes.

It might not be so easy to get them out, and before then your dog's eyes might even get irritated and tear up.

A sturdy pair of Doggles can prevent all this from happening.

2. Protection from UV rays

We, humans, can simply grab our fave pair of sunglasses during a hot day, but your dog probably doesn't have the same luxury.

When exposed directly to harmful UV rays, dogs are at higher risk of getting surface ocular cancer.

It can also worsen pannus, a hereditary condition that affects a dog's cornea.

3. Protection from wind and debris

If your dog loves riding with the windows down or going on bike rides, they will need special goggles.

Doggles will help protect their eyes from the wind and any debris that might fly into them.

4. Protection from water and snow

Has your dog ever gotten the Zoomies? When their energy's up there, they might run around, jump in the water, or play in the snow.

And of course, their eyes get exposed to a lot of debris.

Before anything potentially scratches their eyes, you can protect them with dog-friendly goggles.

Also, keep in mind that snow can reflect 80% of the sun's UV rays, which makes it harder for your furry friend to keep their eyes open.

Additionally, when a dog is exposed to UV rays for too long, it may worsen a hereditary eye condition called pannus and cause sunburn to occur around their eyes.

5. Style

Let's be perfectly honest: Doggles look pretty cool.

They come in different colors, so you can even get multiple pairs to dress up your pooch on various occasions.

They're also highly adjustable, so there's a pair out there for canines of all sizes.

Who wouldn't want their pup to strut with a pair of stylish goggles?

How to tell if your dog needs doggles

It's recommended for Doggles with vision conditions like cataracts or traits like protruding eyes to get Doggles.

While Doggles have all sorts of benefits, there are some Doggles who need them more than others.

If your furry friend falls into any of the following categories, it may be time to get it fitted for a pair.

Dogs with eye conditions

If your pup has a diagnosed eye condition like a cataract, Doggles will make a practical accessory since they block UV rays and improve their visual clarity.

Doggles also add a layer of protection for specific dog breeds with sensitive eyes, like brachycephalic dogs.

Examples of such would be Bulldogs and Shih Tzus.

These dogs have a flatter faces and protruding eyes, which makes them more at risk for eye and health problems.

Dogs who enjoy outdoor activities

While adventurous dogs have a lot more fun, they're also more prone to danger from outdoor elements especially if you take them hiking or swimming with you.

This leads to your furry friends being more vulnerable to eye injuries like getting their eyes scratched.

Dogs who travel frequently

If you're a nomad who loves taking your dog with you, investing in a pair of Doggles will minimize the risk of your pet's eyes getting hit by flying debris and harsh winds along the way.

Where you can get doggy fitted with doggles

There are a lot of retail stores, both physical and online, that offer Doggles.

Some of them even offer in-house fittings, so you can take your dog in to have its measurements taken.

Choosing the right pair of doggles

A pair of Doggles have to be perfect for the dog breed.

So, you might be wondering now, 'Well, where do I start?'.

For first-time shoppers, it's pretty easy to get the right pair of Doggles for your furbaby.

All you need to consider are the following:

Proper fit

To ensure a dog's full safety and comfort, the goggles have to fit snugly and comfortably around the head.

It's like buying a harness or a collar — it shouldn't slip nor fit too tightly on the dog's fur.

Lens color

Consider your dog's lifestyle.

Are they usually out and about in broad daylight? Or are you more likely to take it out in the evenings?

Depending on your answer, you should choose a lens color that protects your pup's eyes accordingly.

If it's often out during the day, get Doggles with darker-tinted lenses for UV protection.

Style

Lastly, look up which style of Doggles fits your dog's eyes best.

Some are designed with shallow lenses, which won't fit the protruding eyes of brachycephalic dogs like Boston Terriers and Pugs.

If your dog falls under this category, look for Doggles with deeper eyecups.

Training doggy to wear doggles

A doggie training won't be complete without treats.

Here's the thing, if a dog isn't used to wearing an accessory, training will be required.

As Doggles inventor Roni Di Lullo puts it,

'It depends on your dog… The good majority of them need to be trained to wear them.'.

The good news is, it's not too difficult to train a dog for Doggles.

All it takes are these simple steps.

1. Familiarization

For starters, Introduce the special goggles to your dog while you're outside.

If you let yours wear it indoors, they might not be able to see anything, especially if the Doggles have dark lenses.

Before putting them on, let your dog sniff and paw them around.

Once it can ascertain it's a perfectly safe object, it won't struggle as much when you put the goggles on.

2. Short and frequent training sessions

Get your furry friend used to the goggles by letting it wear them in short, routine intervals.

A quick 5-10 minute training session per day should be enough to start them off.

Better yet, try incorporating Doggles gradually during their walks.

Since your dog might try to paw them off at first, a nice walk can make for a good distraction.

3. Positive reinforcement

A successful training session is always boosted by yummy treats.

Rewarding your dog reinforces the idea that the goggles are okay to wear and that it's doing a good job.

To do so, give your furry friend a treat and lots of praise the moment you take off the goggles.

Repeat these steps multiple times until it looks forward to wearing them.

Are there human doggles?

Like Doggles, human goggles are built to be durable against harsh elements.

Of course, humans too have special goggles of our own.

Nowadays, there are prescription safety glasses that you can get online.

These are specifically designed to protect your eyes if you're working in a hazardous environment while correcting your vision.

Outside of goggles, we can also better protect our eyes by investing in tougher lenses.

Lenses made out of materials like polycarbonate, Trivex, or Tribrid lenses have greater impact resistance.

Doggles or goggles–they all have the same purpose

Just like its human counterpart, Doggles can protect your dog's eyes from UV rays and potential injury.

It can even help them see better during a walk.

So, get them fitted for the perfect pair, and you can keep your pal safe and stylish all at once.

Since her birth in the pages of comic books, she has been brought to life in both film and television and portrayed by the likes of Lynda Carter and Gal Gadot.

Besides being a fierce warrior with incredible combat skills, she's also incredibly strong and agile, thanks to her Amazonian heritage. Plus, she's got a kickass Lasso of Truth that can be used to get the truth out of anyone.

The iconic style of Wonder Woman & Diana Prince

Whether it's her classic red-blue-gold palette or the golden eagle emblem, Wonder Woman's crime-fighting costumes have always been integral to her superhero persona. From the original comic book series to the latest DCEU film adaptations, the most distinctive elements of her style have remained constant through the years, cementing the iconic imagery of Wonder Woman.

Even so, her costumes find ways to evolve with the times, with each version having its unique flair while staying true to the character's roots.

Her alter ego, Diana Prince, is no slouch in the wardrobe department either. From professional business suits to casual dresses and even athletic wear, her off-duty style is versatile and chic. She's also been known to mix and match patterns or throw on a bold accessory to jazz up her look.

One of the elements you see pop up regularly in Diana Prince's look is her glasses, which add a whole new layer to her outfits.

The eyewear of Diana Prince

Like Superman and his Clark Kent persona, who also sports glasses, Wonder Woman also dons glasses as part of her transformation into 'civilian' Diana Prince. Here are some of the chic eyewear she has worn over the decades.

1. Full-rim round glasses

Many people grew up with Lynda Carter's version of Wonder Woman on TV when the show aired from 1975 to 1979.

The first season was set in the 1940s, during World War II. Diana Prince was Steve Trevor's secretary, and they both worked for the US military. This meant she had to wear a military uniform, which was paired with no-nonsense full-rimmed round glasses, giving her a more relatable persona.

2. Black horn-rimmed oval

It's no secret that Gal Gadot's portrayal of the superhero in the 2017 film Wonder Woman was a hit. Her take on the role perfectly blended Wonder Woman's strength and elegance with Diana Prince's vulnerability and kindness.

And can we talk about her period clothing? While the 1910s might not be the most exciting era for fashion, Gadot still manages to pull off the bowler hat and tweed suit with aplomb. Completing the look is a pair of simple yet sophisticated black horn-rimmed oval glasses.

3. Double-bridge square

In the second and third seasons of Wonder Woman the TV show, viewers got to see a more relaxed side to the Amazonian princess as the setting of the show transitioned from the 1940s to the 70s. Gone was the military uniform, and in came trench coats, hats, jewelry, and oversized sunglasses.

One of them featured a distinctive double nose bridge and square tinted lenses.

The outfit accentuated Lynda Carter's striking blue eyes beautifully, while the tortoiseshell glasses made a perfect frame for them.

5. Tinted horn-rimmed round

In a look that's quintessentially 70s, Diana sports a cozy turtleneck with gold hoop earrings and chic horn-rimmed glasses featuring tinted lenses.

What makes this pair even more interesting is the reflective, rose-gold frames. The glasses are undoubtedly the star of this outfit.

How to make Wonder Woman's glasses work for you

Full-rim round and tinted horn-rimmed round glasses are best for faces that are angular and sharper. So, if you have a square, heart, or diamond-shape face shape, these frames will work for you. Additionally, square faces can also pull off the black oval horn-rimmed glasses.

The oversized square glasses suit round faces the most, as the angles of the square frames will balance out and contour your facial features. The same goes for the double-bridge square glasses.

For triangle-shaped faces, oversized and aviator glasses are recommended, so you can either opt for the oversized square glasses or the double-bridge aviator-like square glasses.

If you have an oval face shape, you're a lucky one as this shape works with virtually all frame shapes, so take your pick from any of the above.

Check out our in-depth guide to finding the right glasses for your face shape here.

Styling tips for each type of glass

Let's start with full-rim round glasses. You'll want to pair these with a hairstyle that's either short and spiky or long and layered. Outfit-wise, something classic and feminine, like a flowy skirt or tailored blazer, will complement these glasses nicely.

Next up, black horn-rimmed glasses. These are perfect for a sleek and sophisticated look, so consider a chic updo or sleek straight hair. Pair with bold lip color and a monochromatic outfit for maximum impact.

Double-bridge square glasses look great with a messy bun or a voluminous blowout. Contrast these angular glasses with soft, girly makeup like rosy cheeks and subtle highlighter.

For oversized square tortoiseshell glasses, let your hair flow in loose waves and wear them with something edgy like a leather jacket or distressed denim.

Lastly, consider a fun and playful hairstyle like braids or colorful streaks for tinted horn-rimmed round glasses. Balance them out with neutral makeup and a simple outfit.

Seeing the World through the Eyes of Wonder Woman

Now you know there are plenty of options to choose from if you ever want to take a leaf out of Wonder Woman's style book.

From full-rim round to double-bridge square to horn-rimmed round specs, the superheroine's eyewear arsenal is almost as varied as her actual arsenal of weapons.

More importantly, they convey how Wonder Woman has continuously adapted to the times and evolved through the years. One thing that will never change, however, is her place in comic book history as the ultimate girl power icon.

Zooey Deschanel Glasses: Who’s that Girl with Nerdy Chic Glasses

Did you know that Zooey Deschanel's glasses in 'New Girl' didn't have lenses in them? Look back at the first episode, then you'll see what we're talking about.

And yet, the lack of lenses didn't stop her from becoming TV's quirky IT girl. On the contrary, the glasses launched a new wave of appreciation for the nerdy chic aesthetic.

Here's how you get Zooey's style onscreen or offscreen.

Who is Zooey Deschanel?

Zooey Deschanel was born in the beautiful hills of Los Angeles, California, on January 17, 1980. She's an actress, musician, and singer-songwriter who appeared onscreen since the young age of 17.

Early on in her career, she honed her craft in quirky rom coms and deadpan comedies. You probably recognize her from films like Veronica's Closet, 500 Days of Summer, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

But of course, the role that catapulted her to a household name is that of Jessica Day in the hit sitcom New Girl. The nerdy, bumbling, yet wholesome character — along with her distinctive style — endeared Zooey to many.

One look at her Instagram and you can tell what Zooey's style is all about. From ballet flats to flared dresses and florals, she has mastered the art of modern retro chic.

In the 90s, she often sported knee-high socks, ballet flats, and Peter Pan collars. This was also the time she became known for her soft, browline-length bangs, which frame her face and accentuate her bright blue eyes perfectly.

Today, her style has evolved into something more sophisticated. Her style still has a distinctively vintage vibe, but she now mixes it up with sharp blazers and stylish spectacles too.

In fact, you might even find her easier to recognize with her glasses on. Keep reading to see some of the specs Zooey has sported in and out of character, and find out how to get her looks.

Zooey Deschanel's eyeglasses through the years

Here's the thing, though, does Zooey Deschanel actually need glasses?

The line that separates Jess and Zooey can be a blurry one, and with how big of a part glasses play in the former's persona, it's hard to imagine Zooey not wearing any IRL.

As it turns out, Zooey does need prescription glasses, which she confirmed in a Facebook post back in 2011. In the post, she wrote, 'I've worn glasses my whole life & don't know any other way. How about you guys?'

Over the years, the 'New Girl' star has built up a reputation around her signature look. Here are some of the most memorable eyewear looks she showed off through the years.

Signature black frames for a classic fit

Think Zooey Deschanel glasses, and classic black frames will usually come to mind. The pair she wears here can be easily mistaken for a Jess Day pair, but this chic pair actually comes from a campaign she did for an eyeglasses brand.

Round glasses with transparent frames for a fun night out

If there's anyone who knows how to have fun with fashion, it's Zooey. She showed off her playful side via her glasses when she made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which were round and had transparent, acetate frames.

You too can easily add a playful twist to your look with our Bobby frames, which add a touch of retro charm with their round, see-through frames. Additionally, they're tinted with a light shade of gray so they're still versatile enough for most outfits.

Zooey Deschanel's onscreen glasses

Zooey has portrayed many a colorful character in film and TV over the years. However, one common element you'll often see pop up in these characters is — you guessed it — a pair of glasses.

Here are some of her most memorable onscreen specs.

Browline glasses in 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

In a sci-fi film like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, you always need a trusty sidekick. That was Trillian, and Zooey played her memorably wearing a pair of browline glasses.

With rims that only extend to the upper brow part of the frames, these glasses are perfect for standing apart from the crowd in a subtle way. Now you can do the same with this Steven pair from Door2USA Prescription Glasses, which has sleek, black upper frames for a modern, industrial look and is made with silicone nose pads for a customizable, comfortable fit.

This section couldn't be complete without Jess Day and the many varieties of glasses she's worn over New Girl's 7-season run. It's the character that launched a thousand oversized, full-rimmed glasses, after all.

As Jess, Zooey often wore subtle tortoiseshell frames, and a pair like this Anonymous pair can definitely give you the same vibe.

If square frames aren't your thing, maybe this rectangular pair will be more up your alley. The tortoiseshell print is more pronounced here, and its angular shape balances out her voluminous, tousled updo.

Get the Zooey Deschanel look for every face shape

One of the main things to consider when picking out glasses is your face shape. Knowing your facial structure is key to finding a frame shape that complements you best.

So, before you go full nerdy chic, check out our guide above and then circle back here to see which Zooey-inspired glasses you can rock for your face shape.

Heart-shaped face

Heart-shaped faces have high cheekbones that can be very fun to play with, fashion-wise. Opt for wide, oval frames like our Hipster frames to bring out your best angles.

Oval face

Those who are blessed with an oval face will have little to no struggle in picking specs, as almost anything will look good on you. To help narrow down your options, try these sultry tortoiseshell Nori frames.

Round face

Soft, round faces call for angular frames to balance out their features and give them a more contoured appearance. Something like these square, orange tortoiseshell Bravo frames will set you up for a great look.

Triangle-shaped face

If you've got a triangle-shaped face, you gotta find a way to work with your angles too. Sharp browline square glasses like this Steven design can balance your features out without blocking them entirely.

Square face

Unlike round faces, a square face usually has strong angles. Hence, you need a round pair of specs to soften your features and balance out your proportions. That's where these thin, round Abby frames come in.

Diamond-shaped face

Having a diamond face shape is almost like a cheat code: most glasses will look perfect on you! This is especially the case with cat-eye frames that play up your cheekbones. With our Alice frames, you can get the effect of lifted cheekbones while channeling your inner Zooey.

Take a leaf from Zooey Deschanel's book

Zooey's style has shifted and evolved through the years, but some staples remain constant, such as her favorite glasses.

We hope this guide has helped give you some inspiration on what to look for, but if there's one thing we want you to take away from Zooey's approach to glasses, it's to never be afraid to change it up every now and then.
